The Client

As the premier assisted living and memory care provider in the Upper Cumberland, Heritage Pointe Senior Living provides apartment-style living with 24-hour care and assistance. Locally and privately owned by Beacon Company, LLC, Heritage Pointe Senior Living just celebrated its 11th year in operation. Established in 2006, the company opened its beautiful facility in June 2007. “We gathered a team of individuals from various healthcare backgrounds to come up with a specific vision to provide the highest quality of assisted living with superior care for the people in Cookeville and its surrounding areas. Our goal was to provide an affordable yet luxurious atmosphere for those facing healthcare challenges,” says Susan Dalton, Executive Director at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. Today, the company employs 35 dedicated team members, including caregivers, CNAs, LPNs, as well as dining services, maintenance, activities, and administrative employees.

Heritage Pointe Senior Living cares for seniors who are desiring to have a safe, secure, lively, social, and home-like environment in which to maintain their independence, as much as possible, while receiving care in the areas they need help with. “We also care for the family members, as we help them navigate the uncertainty that can happen in the changing health conditions of their loved ones. We help with ‘all the stuff’ of life, such as housekeeping, laundry, meals, medication management, and all activities of daily living,” says Dalton. Licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health, Heritage Pointe Senior Living houses 66 residents, with 18 of those in its secured memory care area. As human beings caring for human beings, each day is completely different at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. Dalton explains, “Some days are pleasantly calm, while some days are hard. However, our job is to provide dignity and choices—every step of the way—for our residents who are losing control of their health or experiencing changes in other areas.”

The Opportunity

Heritage Pointe Senior Living discovered LBMC Employment Partners as one of its owners had a prior business relationship with W Squared since 2008.
